Alright - for all those slow pokes out there (I'm talking about you little opa) the expect net game will close on Sept 1st. No fair waiting to put your guess in until after!
Still feeling good and baby is doing great. I'll update with pictures soon.

Scaredy Squirrel says 'Thumbs Up'!
We've got a great announcement - Elena has stopped sucking her thumb!
We'd been 'prepping' her that when her baby teeth started to fall out, she'd have to stop sucking her thumb. We checked out a book from the library about a kid who decides to stop sucking his thumb. Then we didn't say much more - taking her dentist Big Opa's advice that we couldn't do much before age 5.
Several weeks later, Elena announces, 'The concert (the friday night outdoor concerts in the summer in b'burg) is a party for me, because I'm stopping sucking my thumb.' That night, she asked for a bandaid. Man it was hard. Those first few nights she had such a hard time falling asleep. Jake and I cuddled her, sang to her, petted her back. She kept waking herself up and then wasn't able to go to sleep. At one point I was ready to take the bandaid off! But she stuck to her guns, there was no backing down. With the same determination she uses for almost everything, she set her mind to not sucking her thumb. That was July 26th. Since then we've gone through a lot of bandaids and had to have extra cuddles. Bunny had to attend school with her for several days. We even made it on the cross country plane flight and vacation. She still likes to have a bandaid on at night, but I don't think she really needs it.
This is a photo of her special breakfast the morning after she stopped. We were so proud, so we went out for french toast

I should point out that this was decidedly cheaper than the trip to Six Flags that my parents had to bribe me with!
(although don't tell her, but we are looking into a two wheeled bike!)
